Our thousand plus dahlia plants are in peak season in mid September through early October, when the blooms are pumping out, as if the plants know that there are a mere few weeks until a killing frost puts them back to sleep for another 8 months.​ Step into the vibrant, late-summer magic of our flower fields for a special two-hour workshop dedicated to the queen of the season - dahlias.

Harvest & Design: Dahlias - A Seasonal Flower Farm Experience

Join us for a 2-hour workshop at The Farm at Oxford, held during peak dahlia season. This experience is perfect for flower lovers who want to explore the beauty of dahlias from field to vase.

Here’s what’s included:

• Pick Your Own Dahlias: Start with a guided walk through our 80+ variety dahlia field, Learn how to cut flowers at the right stage and select from a stunning variety of colors and forms to create with.

• Floral Design Lesson: Using your freshly picked blooms plus a plethora of other in-season floral options, farmer-florist & grower, Mara, will lead a hands-on design session focused on creating a lush, garden-style arrangement. You'll learn how to work with dahlias and supporting blooms to create a natural, flowing composition.

• Take-Home Arrangement: Leave with your custom arrangement, plus tips you can apply to your own garden or future floral projects.

• Investment: $165 per person

All materials and tools are provided. No experience necessary—just bring your love of flowers!

For out of town guests wanting to attend, there are inns & hotels just 15-20minutes from our farm; and the acclaimed Longwood Gardens is just 15 minutes away in Kennett Square as well, if you are coming from a distance, definitely make a stop at the Gardens!
